As one of the senior figures in the Auckland East branch, Keith is an advisor to a large number of long-standing commercial clients. Although active in many different areas, Keith particularly enjoys his association with Foodstuffs Auckland and he is the insurance broker for many supermarket owner / operators.
 
Keith first entered the insurance industry in 1969 working for Royal Insurance in the UK. After emigrating to New Zealand in 1974, Keith continued to work for the same insurance company in various roles. In 1983 he moved into insurance broking in partnership with Warren Long, opening an office on Auckland's North Shore. Subsequent mergers saw the formation of Long Barker Snookes Rutherford and then FMR Risk.

Keith is a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (QPIB) and a Fellow of the Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand (FIBANZ).
