Earlier this year, FMR Risk announced that it had agreed to sell its business to Crombie Lockwood, a part of Wesfarmers Insurance, which is a division of Wesfarmers Limited, a top ten ASX listed company with operating revenue in excess of AUD 50 billion in the year ended 30 June 2011.

Originally formed through a merger between HD Fraser & Macandrew Limited, Lance Ryan Brokers Limited and Macandrew Insurances International Limited, FMR Risk also incorporated the broking businesses of Risk Solutions, Mahony & Co and Long Barker Snookes Rutherford and developed a subsidiary operation FMR Professions Ltd.

Through its own mergers and acquisitions, FMR Risk had evolved to become New Zealand's most progressive insurance advisor, providing a full range of insurance broking and risk advisory services to institutions, corporate entities and commercial enterprises nationally and internationally.
